Ecole Polytechnique's International Amateur Piano Competition
Each year since 1985, France's Ecole Polytechnique has been organizing an international amateur piano competition. This event is open to all university students.
The three finalists get the exceptional opportunity to play a piano concerto with a professional orchestra. The finals are public and take place at Ecole Polytechnique's main auditorium in Palaiseau, near Paris.
Applicants for the 33rd edition, to be held in Paris on January 2019, must prepare two pieces of their choice and one imposed piece, as well as a Mozart concerto of your choice for the finals.
The imposed piece is Gabriel Fauré's' Impromptu No. 1.
